If anyone has seen the TV show, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader™, then you know that the questions make you wonder how any fifth grader would possibly know simple geography or history if you, older than a fifth grader, have no idea which country in the world is the least populated.
You may have seen the YouTube videos of people on college campuses asking their peers simple questions about topics that you learned in grade school. I decided to remake one with my hall mates, RA, and other friends to see if they would know the answers to basic grade school questions.
This isn't a typical blog, as the content is in the video, but I promise it's worth the watch.
This is the list of questions I asked. How many can you get right? (Watch the video for the correct answers):
How many sides does a trapezoid have?
How many continents are there in the world?
How many pounds are in a ton?
What is the capital of New York?
Who is the president on the $20 bill?
What’s heavier: a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers?
How many days are in a leap year?
Spell top. Say top. Say it 3 times. Say it 4 times. What do you do at a green light?
Today's Blog Post Bop:
I hope you're smarter than a fifth grader,
Ariana J. Bagley
