I wouldn't consider myself a hopeless romantic, but for the past few years, I have been saving so many different adorable date ideas in the notes app on my phone (please don't make fun of me). I look at it occasionally, but I thought I might as well share some of my favorites. Most of the time, I get these from VSCO, Twitter, or I just came up with them myself.
During the holidays, like Halloween and Christmas for example, there are plenty of things to do with someone. Haunted housing, pumping carving, decorating cookies, or wrapping presents. Those are pretty common and people have probably done them a billion times. The dates I'm going to talk about in this blog won't be as common as those (so hopefully you guys don't hate them).
Side note: these definitely don't have to be date activities you do with a significant other, but you could do with your closest friends too!
1. Drive-in movie
I'm sure plenty of people have either heard of or been to one before, but this would be such a fun date idea! You could go to one near you or make one in your backyard. Lots of snacks and a fun movie -- what could get better than that?
2. Breakfast and the sunrise
This would be so adorable. Getting up early, picking up or making breakfast and bringing it with, have a picnic, and watch the sunrise. *insert cute simp/puppy dog eyes emoji here*
3. Paint a view
This could be very similar to #2, so you could definitely mash the two, but find a nice view somewhere, or the sunset/sunrise, and paint the view on canvases. You could make it a competition or just have fun with it!
4. Camping
A short road trip to a camp spot and spending a few nights in a cabin or tent, perfection.
5. Release Chinese lanterns
I don't know what Disney or teen movie I saw this from forever ago, but it is such an adorable idea.
6. Do a scavenger hunt
You can find plenty of scavenger hunts online and there are even apps for them. Doing a scavenger hunt in your city, or a city you don't quite know very well, either way, would be a super fun day activity.
7. Watch really bad movies
Find the worst rated movies, order take out, and make fun of the movies the entire time. Might as well switch it up a little bit and have a laugh at the production (sorry producers).
I'm pretty sure I have over 50 dates saved in my notes, but you guys are lucky enough to get 7. I hope they come in handy, or you enjoyed reading this for future reference. Call me a date whisperer if you wish.
